Concordia University’s Annual Undergraduate Student Exhibition, entitled Roundup, will be held at the Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery from April 22 to May 14, 2005. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, April 21 at 5:30 pm. This juried exhibition is part of a long-standing tradition at Concordia University that dates back more than twenty years. It provides undergraduate students from the Faculty of Fine Arts an opportunity to present their work in a professional gallery setting, and it introduces the general public to a generation of emerging contemporary artists.

The participants of Roundup demonstrate a wide range of artistic concerns and their work reflects contemporary issues in artmaking. This exhibition includes a variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, print media, and video projection.

Roundup is organized by the Co-Directors of the VAV Gallery, Carla Benzan and Kyd Campbell, and the Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery. An undergraduate student committee was responsible for selecting the artworks in this exhibition. This year’s exhibition includes work by Haig AIVAZAN, Anne-Marie BOURGEOIS, Mathieu/Matthew CONWAY, Michael FARNAN, Sarah FEBBRARO, Leigh GILLAM, Malaika GOLLAND, Nancy GUIRAGOSSIAN, Dessa HARHAY, Anne-Renée HOTTE, Yana KEHRLEIN, Katie LYLE, Marie-Eve MARTEL, Louis PERRAULT, Cody STEPHENSON, Victoria STUSIAK, Andrew TAGGART, and Zane TURNER

A series of Artists’ Talks will be held in the Gallery on the day of the opening, beginning at 4:30 pm.  Everyone is welcome.
